Alloy Definition:

Alloy Explanation:

An alloy is formed of two or more elements of which at least one is a metal. The procedure of formation of an alloy includes the melting of metals. These are then mixed in their liquid state to form a solution. After that it is cooled to solid state. The properties of an alloy are different from the metals that were involved in its formation. Examples of alloys include steel which is formed by the combination of iron and carbon in which iron is a metal while carbon is a non-metal. Another example is brass, a combination of copper and zinc. Alloys have several applications and they are used in fields of aircrafts, military, commercial, industrial, medical, residential and manufacturing.
