Common Noun Notes:
Common noun is a non-specific term which is used to identify a noun is general. For example the words like cat, city , drink is considered as common noun as these words don't specify us that about which cat or city discussion is going on and we can not come to know about these nouns specifically. Commonly these nouns when used in the sentences are not capitalized but if we are supposed to start a sentence with a common noun than we have to capitalized first letter. Like basic noun, common noun can also be used as a subject or an object in a sentence.
