We can used to compete two things by using this formula. " Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun (object). For example " My dog runs faster than hers". "She is smarter than her sister" here is the comparison of two nouns. As comparison is always between two things and with the help of comparative nouns we can assert that what are the qualities which make these two nouns different from each other. We use ier , ed and er to make a comparison like "She is happier than her friend".
