Prepositional Phrase Notes:

Prepositional phrases are group of two or three words serving us with the same purpose as of simple preposition. The main purpose of these phrases is to convert the right information of the text. These groups of two or three words act as a connector or glue in easy words. Prepositional phrases mainly contain a preposition or a words which modify the noun and the object it governs. The object can be a noun, a gerund (a verb form ending in "-ing" that acts as a noun), or a clause. For example I adopted a black cat with white paws. As we know that "with" is a preposition and "white" act as an adjective as it modifies the cat. Second example is "It annoys me when people talk during movies." As during is preposition, and talking is telling us the function or a verb of a noun. So collectively it is a prepositional phrase.
