Avoiding or Withdrawing Notes:
A project team consists of people belonging to different backgrounds, posses different set of skills and expertise and can also belong to different locations. Every member can have a different opinion regarding a topic and when two opinions do not match, conflicts arise. One of the approach to handle conflict is called avoiding approach which is also called withdrawing approach. This approach is basically related to avoiding the situation. In this approach, one of the conflicting parties step out of the conflict situation to avoid any serious disagreement. Retreating from a conflict at an early stage suppresses the conflict at that time. However, it may be possible that the conflict escalates at the later stage. Example of avoiding/withdrawing approach of conflict handling is one party staying silent in the situation of conflict or disagreement.
