Base Lining Notes:
Base lining is a method that enables an organization to monitor important performance measures over time. This aids in identifying trends in improvement (positive or negative). This information is then communicated to the management for decision making. Through base lining process, performance measures are identified, data is gathered and analyzed regularly to look for any trends and changes, and time frame for future data collection is established. Base lining is related to business process reengineering. As Reengineering affects the functions at all levels within the organization, base lining results may identify abrupt changes. These changes can be used in the improvement of the organization.
