Affinity Diagram Explanation:
In order to solve a problem, it is important to know all the issues related to the problem. One way to do this is affinity diagram. Affinity diagram is usually made within groups of people and helps to list all the ideas or issues which should be addressed so it is like a group activity. First of all, the major problem is defined. Then each team member writes an issue related to the problem on his/her card. The cards are then placed on a flat surface for everyone to see. The cards are then moved and cards related to a similar theme are placed together. If a team member disagrees with the placement, he/she can move it. This moving and placing of cards will stop after consensus between the members is reached. Based on the cards, a complete affinity diagram is made.
