Allele Notes:
An allele is a variant form of a gene. Some genes have a variety of different forms, which are located at the same position or have the same genetic locus on a chromosome. Each copy of the allele is inherited from each parent and may be different from each other and may give a different phenotype than the parent organism. Humans are called diploid organisms since they have two alleles at each gene locus.
