The phospholipid is a classical example of an amphipathic molecule that has both the regions. They have non-polar fatty acid tails and polar phosphate heads. The polarity of a substance will determine how other molecules will react with it. Phospholipids are a class of lipids that are a major component of all cell membranes. They can form lipid bilayers because of their amphiphilic characteristic. The two components or the head and tail are joined together by a glycerol molecule.
