Flaccid Explanation

When a plant cell in an isotonic solution, the plasma membrane is not pressed tightly against the cell wall, and therefore, is neither swollen (turgid) nor plasmolyzed. The word flaccid describes one that is weak, soft, or lacking vigor. Plants become flaccid when they are kept in an isotonic solution and subsequently there is no net movement of water molecules the cells go limp.
