Prescott's Microbiology 9th Edition by Joanne Willey, Linda Sherwood, Christopher J. Woolverton
Actinomycete Explanation:
Actinomycetes are filamentous and rod shaped fungus-like bacteria. The ones that are rod shaped are likely to form branching and long chains of cells. Most of the actinomycetes form colonies and true filaments, which resemble fungi; however, the diameter of these filaments is smaller than the diameter of fungi.
