AraC Explanation:
AraC is a dimeric repressor, that is a negative regulator of the ara operon. One monomer binds to the araBAD gene (araO2) operator, while the other monomer to a distant half site of DNA, called aral1. This causes the blockage of RNA polymerase from binding to the ara Bad promoter.
