Before 2017
The problem was in front of us every day
Long before Techleens had a name, Arshad Iqbal was teaching and writing. Year after year he watched capable students fall short in exams, not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked practice. Good question banks were expensive, scattered across photocopied notes, or simply did not exist for their syllabus. A student in a well-funded city school had a shelf of preparation material. A student in a small town had a textbook and hope.
He kept returning to one thought: every child should be able to get an education, and preparing well for an exam should not depend on a family's income or a school's budget. Multiple-choice questions, written carefully and explained properly, were the simplest tool he knew that could close that gap. They test understanding, they give instant feedback, and they can be shared with anyone who has a screen.
2017
Techleens is founded, and the first questions go online
In 2017 the idea became a company. Techleens IT Solutions was registered in Islamabad with a clear purpose: build the learning tools students actually needed and make them available to everyone. The first product was a quiz website built around curated MCQs, each with an answer and an explanation, organised by subject and course so that a student preparing for a specific exam could find exactly what they needed.
The early work was unglamorous. Thousands of questions were written, reviewed and tagged by hand. The site was rebuilt more than once as traffic grew and as we learned how students really studied: on phones, late at night, in short sessions, often with poor connections. Every one of those lessons shaped what came next.
2018 to 2020
Two platforms, one content model
As the question bank grew into the tens of thousands, we split the experience into two platforms built on one shared content model. MCQsLearn.com serves secondary, college, university and professional learners, from Cambridge O and A Levels to SAT, MCAT, BBA, MBA, computer science and engineering. MCQLearn.com was designed specifically for Class 6 to 10 students, with a simpler, friendlier interface suited to younger learners.
During these years the content was also shaped into structured study guides. Publishing them as e-books on Apple Books meant that a student who preferred to study from a book could carry a whole subject on a tablet or phone. The series grew title by title, each produced from the same reviewed question bank that powered the websites.
2021
MCQsLearn comes to the App Store and Google Play
Students told us, in reviews and emails, that they wanted the practice to live on their phones, offline, with progress they could see. In December 2021 the MCQsLearn All-in-One app launched on the App Store, followed by Google Play. It brought timed quizzes, streaks, achievements, readiness scores and offline access to more than 25,000 questions.
The same shared code base then let us publish 54 focused single-subject apps alongside the flagship, so that a learner preparing for one exam could install one small, dedicated app. Today the portfolio stands at 55 apps, with the All-in-One app rated 4.6 out of 5 on the App Store and installed more than 10,000 times on Google Play.
2022 to today
Services for clients, and the road to adaptive learning
Running two web platforms, 55 apps and a publishing pipeline for 98 e-books taught us how to build software that survives contact with real users at scale. Companies and institutions began asking us to bring that experience to their own products. Techleens grew into a full software development and IT consulting company, offering mobile, web, SaaS, AI, design and cloud services, while continuing to own and operate everything we built for students.
The mission has not changed; it has become more ambitious. The millions of answers recorded across our platforms are the foundation for the next chapter: AI that understands each learner's strengths, gaps, pace and confidence, and adapts to them, from a child's first classroom to doctoral research. You can read where that work is heading on our Our Goal page.
